Gender recognition application process
- On receipt of your application form, we will send you an acknowledgement.
- We will then take payment for the application.
- We will examine and verify your application. If we believe that we need additional information, we will write and tell you what other evidence you need to send us.
- Once we have collected all the evidence we will present your case to the panel.
- The panel may ask for more evidence - if they do, we will write and tell you what else you need to send us.
- The panel will then decide whether your application is successful or not.
- If your application is unsuccessful, we will write and tell you why.
- If the application is successful, we will inform the General Registrars Office and the Inland Revenue and we will send you your gender recognition certificate.
